Hanwell Town 1 Charville Athletic 2
A tense encounter that saw Hanwell dominate for much of the game. A fine penalty save by DAVID HICKLING kept Hanwell in charge and when ABDI SAAD scored it looked to be their day. However in the second half Charville came back strongly and netted twice to take the spoils. Disappointing given the Hanwell performance.

A vs. B team games follow a pattern of a strong B team start followed by A team dominance as the game goes on. However, today's match broke the mould and was an even and hard fought affair with both teams guilty of profligacy in front of nets. It was the A teams superior finishing and more effective pressing in defence that was the difference in the end. DECLAN SPEEDE opened the scoring with a crisp finish half way though the first half but the B team pressed and brought some at times desperate defending from the A team back four. However they did enough to prevent the equaliser with PERRY HEASLIP and LUKE NICHOLAS combining well at the centre of defence and, when their lines were breached, DAVID GRACES'S goalkeeping was superlative. Just when a B team equaliser seemed most likely an A team fast break and resulting corner saw PERRY HEASLIP head powerfully into the top corner. Game over? Well, no actually. The Bs redoubled their efforts with BEN STANIER a vulpine threat and FREDDIE HAYNES industrious and dangerous. Tired legs and minds led to a chaotic last ten but the score remained 2 - 0 to the A team. The gap between A and B continues to close but for now the A team are still unbeaten by their counter parts. Man of the match goes to DECLAN SPEEDE whose constant running and harassing never allowed the B team to settle and was a great example of defending from the front.

The 12As a re a pass and move team that relish the big pitch opportunity. Unfortunately this game was played on a postage stamp of a pitch and Hanwell's get out of jail card was delivered by MICHAEL BURSE who secured the 3 points to keep the unbeaten run going.

Hounslow Borough 3 Hanwell Town 10
Hanwell made it three games in a row unbeaten and played their best football of the season in the first half against Hounslow. Facing a side they only beat by the odd goal in nine two weeks ago, they went in 6-1 up at the break. With the whole team playing well as a unit, they took Hounslow apart with their passing and movement. RICHIE MAKEPEACE led the way with four goals, JORDON WITTER notched a hat-trick - including a fine free kick - while HARRY FIELD, NATHAN MCLEOD and SEAN KELLY scored one apiece

A fabulous display by the Under 11s saw them beat the League leaders in a complete turnaround from the corresponding fixture. A goal from VICTOR MONTES was enough to secure the win but fine displays by DAVID KEOGH and ROSHAN VYAS also caught the eye as they vied for the man of the match honour

Hanwell Town 7 West Drayton Utd 2
The under 10s continued their good run of form beating WDU 7 - 2 an improvement on the 3 - 2of earlier in the season. Hanwell were dominant throughout and played with panache and aplomb arguably their best game to date. A hatrick from the consistent LUKE JONES and goals from SAM POMPILIS JOHNATHON BURSE and LOUIS AKIOYA

Cowley Youth 3 Hanwell Town 2
Hanwell lost the corresponding fixture to Cowley last year 12 - 1. The result is a measure of how this side has come. It was disappointing not to come away with more from this match. Despite the chaos of players being at the wrong pitch the match eventually kicked off 20 minutes late. Hanwell looked comfortable and only went 1 - 0 down when re arrangement of personnel was needed. Cowley took a 2 - 0 lead after a disputed free kick that keeper KYLE LACY ANDREWS was unlucky with. Hanwell bounced back and man of the match LUKE FRANCIS pulled one back before Cowley restored their 2 goal advantage. Never say die - After a progression of throw ins down the line at last the ball was thrown to the middle for JAMIE BUIST to cut the deficit. Time ran out but Hanwell's spirit never did. Great effort by all players.

Hive 2 Hanwell Town 1
The U9B's gave a good account of themselves as they came off second best in a close game with local rivals Hive, finally going down 2-1. The first half was a goalless affair leaving everything to play for in the second half.
This was not too old when the deadlock was broken by a good solo effort from Hive, (made to look better by poor defending). HT presses on and gained a deserved equaliser when DANDI SYLA fired home from just inside the Hive area. With both teams going for the win HT show themselves to be a little naive; as they pushed on for the winner, they left themselves exposed to the long ball which was to finish them off as a Hive player found himself in acres of space to fire home at will. The rest of the match was played out around the Hive box but they just couldn't find the net again, (which there effort really deserved).
HT MOTM went to GEORGE PEARSON who gave 100% from his right wing back position

This was a match in which Hanwell never really got going. From the moment the boys arrived this morning we could sense it wasn't going to be our day. They never had their football heads on. The match started with CY on the attack from the word go and if it wasn't for CRAIG TILLYER in goal HT would have been behind early on. CY finally got in front before half time and could consider themselves unlucky not to be leading by more, but they found that the only HT player really up for the game was the goalkeeper. Second half was much better for HT as they started to compete for the ball, but their usually excellent passing game still deserted them. At the end of the match both teams had what they deserved. Player of the match CRAIG TILLYER. A brilliant performance to keep the score to 1.

Hanwell Town 1 Brook House 1
Hanwell took on third placed Brook House at home. Brook House got out of jail to nick a point and should the think themselves lucky. Hanwell started briskly and quickly tested the BH keeper. Pressure eventually told as TASHAN DWYER fired one home a lead they took to half time.
So dominant were Hanwell that when the chances were not going in the defence crept forward and got caught out as a Brook House forward broke clear to equalise. Not to worry there was plenty of time to close out the game. Chance after chance came and went and the away keeper had more than a hand in it - sometimes a foot, sometimes a face but enough to deny a winner. Even a penalty for Hanwell went begging. A good performance by LUKE FRANCIS and man of the match BRADLEY VENTOUR but ah what might have been.
Under 9 B
Hanwell Town 2 Hive 3
For the second week running Hanwell U9B's took on local rivals Hive and for the second week came of worse by the odd goal, finally going down 2-3.
Hanwell started slowly and soon fell behind as Hive played the game in the Hanwell half. Hive kept the pressure on and they soon got there reward as they increased there lead, (things did not look too good for Hanwell). The second goal however proved to be the wake up call Hanwell needed as they started to show some of there recent improved form. As halftime approached Hanwell clawed there way back into the game with a nice passing move involving GEORGE PEARSON and DANDI SYLA which resulted in SAMIR SHAFFI rocketing the ball high into the Hive net.
The second half saw Hanwell try hard for the equaliser, and as they pressed forward they left themselves exposed at the Back, Hive moved the ball quickly on the counter attack but they had not bargained for Keeper CONNOLLY who kept Hanwell in the game with a string of fine saves. With the game flowing from end to end Hanwell drew level with a fine solo effort from DANDI SYLA who picked up a lose ball and beat 2 Hive defenders before shooting low into the net for the equaliser. As so often happens, Hanwell thought the job was done and were made to pay as Hive punished poor defending with there 3rd goal, minutes for the end.
Hanwell town MOTM went to MICHAEL CONNOLLY for his second half performance (well done Michael). The improvement in the team continues, in days gone by they would have lost this game by a wide margin.

Hanwell Town A 3 Acton Sports 1
This Sunday saw the A team play a hastily arranged friendly at home against Acton Sports. Despite being short of several players Hanwell played with the sort of indubitableness they have so often lacked this
season. Key to this performance was a solid midfield show, the principle architect of which being man of the match PAUL GORMALLY. However, the bullwork was evident throughout the whole team and it was this attitudewhich led to Hanwells opener. DECLAN SPEEDE and AARON NELSON combined well to put the Acton defence under pressure resulting in their hapless centre back putting the ball past his own keeper. To fair on the Acton defender, he didn't have anywhere else to put it as the Hanwell strikers bore down on him. However, Acton restored parity when a rare moment of vacillation in the otherwise pertinacious Hanwell defence allowed their striker to score. Hanwell responded positively, though, and DECLAN SPEEDE restored the home team advantage with decent finish following good build up. Hanwells third came from ROBERT KEOGH who was given space outside the box to hit a wonderful right foot shot past the Acton keeper. The second half saw Hanwell squander several chances but also managed to keep Actons efforts on goal to a minimum. Final score 3 -1. A Jjb well done.

A one sided affair where goals from SAFI FAZLI, JOSH BROWN and MICHAEL BURSE where sufficient for victory. Second in the table Heathrow ended Hanwell U12B's recent unbeaten run but had to work hard to do so. Hanwell started well and were 1-0 up through NATHAN MACLEOD for most of the first half before a disputed penalty pulled the home side level. After the break, Heathrow scored a couple of quick goals and from that point Hanwell were always playing catch-up. A further goal from NATHAN and one from RITCHIE MAKEPEACEwere not enough to save the game in what was still a good team performance.

Scoring 3 goals at home always a pleasure to watch but Hanwell were always second in this game. Credit to West Drayton who were slick, quick and deadly. For the record Hanwell's goals were an own goal after a fierce right wing cross by MATTHEW PHILLIPS. A second half goal from SOLOMON QUARSHIE after another fierce right wing cross from JAMIE BUIST - and the goal of the game from injured goalie SEAN CARROLL (bruised finger) having a rare sortie out on the pitch. Hanwell even looked for a minute like they might nick a 4 - 4 draw BUT - WDU were never going to be denied a hard fought well won victory.

Hanwell Town 2 Hillingdon Saints 1
The U9B's finally got the win that there recent performances suggested was on the cards, as they over came an improving Hillingdon Saints 2-1 with a workmanlike effort. The first half was a very scrappy affair, that you could say HT shaded on the basis of keeper Connolly only having one save to make, as the half ended 0-0.
The second half however was a different story as HT tried to step up a level with the introduction of there passing game, which soon resulted in them taking the lead with a well worked move down the left, ball crossed by BROWN and finished by GEORGE `MAGIC BOOTS' PEARSON from a distant 6 ft out!
As in previous games the U9B's having worked hard to gain an advantage spoilt it by giving the opposition a soft equalizing goal, straight away. With the scores now all square and everything to play for, Hanwell rolled there sleeves up and got back down to work. Finally after a number of close attempts on the Saints' goal, the U9B's took the lead through SAMIR SHAFFI who turned and prodded home from close range. With no further lapse of concentration this time Hanwell comfortable held the lead until the end.
Man of the match was Andrew Brown (new boots as well!), whose second half performance at left wing back lead the way

In a match played in the bitter cold, Explorers had much the better of the first half and tested HT goalie CRAIG TILLYER early on but found him in fine form pulling off at least 4 first class saves. HT struggled to play their football on quite a narrow pitch and finally fell behind before half time when the ref awarded Exp a freekick for a rather dubious handball decision. They took it quickly and buried it passed CRAIG before he was ready. Second half saw HT start to take control of the game and create quite a few chances. Unfortunately for HT the Explorers goalie was also in fine form and refused to be beaten. JOHN CAHILL had a couple of 1 on 1's but the goalie came out on top. A much better performance than last time, but we need to start taking our chances. Player of the match BEN CHILDS . A true team player, went in goal when CRAIG came off injured.

This was a match in which 5 players made their HT debut. OLIVER, GEORGE, OMAR, CHARLIE and JOSH. This was a totally unjust scoreline, as EU were not 4 goals better than HT. The game started with HT playing some good passing football and creating chance after chance without actually testing the EU goalie. HT were eventually punished for this when EU scored 2 goals just before half time. The second half was almost a carbon copy of the first with HT dominating the play only to concede 2 more goals. How HT didn't scored a goal I will never know. If these kids can get their shooting boots on then they will have no problems. Well done to all the kids that played in this match, they played some great football and the only difference between the teams was that EU took their chances. Player of the match OLIVER. A fantastic debut playing in a number of positions.

Isleworth Colts 5 Hanwell Town 3
On a freezing cold morning the U9B's produced a fantastic team effort to go down fighting, away at league leader, Isleworth Colts, 5 goals to 3. So much happened in this game that this report will not do it justice.Hanwell started with 8 players and finished with 6 such was there effort, and this was also without there regular keeper (who had an appointment in Cardiff, apparently!).
Hanwell started the game in a comfortable fashion but a mix up at the back post on a corner saw them go behind. Things started to go from bad to worst when IC were award a penalty, but stand-in keeper GEORGE PEARSON kept the ball out with a fine stop away to his right, (this provided an inspiration for HT) especially as soon after, Hanwell fell 2 behind. Hanwell did not give up and got there reward when DANDI SYLA fired home after running through the heart of the Colts defence. The half ends with no further score.
The second half was only minutes old when captain, MAYNARD had to leave the field with an injury to his arm. This left the remaining 6 having to readjust positions and step up there effort to cover for their injured captain. This took a while and keeper PEARSON was powerless to stop IC from extending there lead by a further 2 goals (4-1), (despite he's string of quality saves).
Hanwell are now a real team and a team that has heart because they did not give up as they worked there way back into the game through SAMIR SHAFFI and a second from SYLA to put the wind up IC. The scoring was however completed by IC but Hanwell definitely finished the game the stronger and only ran out of time as they gave IC a real run for there money.
Hanwell MOTM went to "the Team" as they played for each other in a tireless fashion. And also a big "well done" from me, the coach as you gave everything and more, what else could I ask for.

A fantastic performance by HT. The game was taken by the scruff of the neck from the word go and were unlucky not to take an early lead. HT finally took the lead when RAHUL KALHAN poked in a goalmouth scramble and went further in front when GEORGE BYRON scored his first goal for HT in his second match. HT should have scored more in the first half but for some good goalkeeping from the EXP goalie and some wayward finishing, but it was the team performance that was the most impressive as CRAIG in goal had nothing to do in the first half. In the second half JACK PICKERING went in goal so that CRAIG could have a run out on pitch, and he duly scored his first goal for HT from the spot after being brought down himself. This was after JAMIE GOULD had scored to make it 3. Player of the match was difficult this week as all the boys put on a superb team performance, but it goes to CHARLIE MURRAY who finally looks like he is coming out of his shell.

Beaconsfield SYCOB 0 Hanwell Town A 20
This Sunday saw the A team travel to the leagues whipping boys Beaconsfield SYCOB. They are a team of undoubted character but little defence. And having only 10 men didn't help their cause any. The A team, however, had no sympathy for SYCOBs travail and put twenty one goals past them. It could have been more but for an indolent first twenty minutes in which Hanwell allowed themselves to be dragged down a level and showed considerable profligacy in front of goal. Once properly in gear, however, the goals came thick and fast. DECLAN SPEEDE netted six (a double hatrick!), ROBERT KEOGH got four, MICHAEL ANTHONY got two, as did PERRY HEASLIP and SAM KHARAS, BEN REDHEAD, DAVID GRACE, FRASER MCKENZIE and LUKE NICHOLAS (first for the club!) got one each. The moment of the match came when goalkeeper DAVID GRACE came up for a corner and was about to score only to see team mate BEN REDHEAD take the ball off his foot and poked it in. David then pursued Ben the length of the pitch hurling a torrent of unprintable abuse. David was placated moments later when he was able to neatly finished a good move to get his first goal for the club. Man of the match goes to DECLAN SPEEDE for his six goals but special mention goes to ARRAN WILDING and ROBBIE HEDGES for their unselfish creativity. My last thoughts go to the SYCOB 'keeper who is pretty good, actually. Mind, I think he gets a lot of practise.

A tightly contested game in very muddy conditions. A great contest and Hanwell deserve credit for taking points off the unbeaten NGU side. Although well clear at the top of this league, Hanwell refused to roll over and had they taken their chances may have caused an upset. Hanwell Town 4 Westway 1
Hanwell killed off the opposition in this Semi Final within the first 5 minutes of the tie. 2 goals apiece from SAFFI FAZLI and JOSH BROWN looked like the prelude to a high scoring one sided cup tie. The conditions were not ideal for Hanwell's normal passing game and as Westway threw everything forward from the kick off Hanwell were far too canny, and the defence managed to get the ball forward quickly and FAZLI and BROWN capitalised. The second half was a largely dull affair as Hanwell made changes and never really looked like conceding and despite getting in the box on several occasions failed to add to their tally. JOB DONE role on the final.

Hanwell battled the top of the table and created many chances but alas had only the sole LUKE JONES strike to show for their efforts. Brook House were lethal in front of goal and credit to them for their performance. The interesting statistic from the game was that LUKE's goal was the first goal conceded in open play by Brook House since 17th October - shame it wasn't worth three - but the result does show that this side are in touch with the League leaders. Man of the match was RAPHAEL TONDELA.

Best described as a controversial win for the home side. The League rules state that each half should be 25 minutes long. After the first half, all thirty five minutes of it, Hanwell led 3 - 0 with goals from MATHEW LEE (2) and JOHN CONWAY. After 25 minutes of the second half the score was 3 - 1 but inexplicably and despite the obvious protestations a further 20 MINUTES was played by which point the Hanwell players were exhausted and as the home side's fourth and winning goal went in the final whistle sounded.

Acton Sports 4 Hanwell Town A 4
At half time Hanwell led what was obviously a talented Acton side 3 - 0. 2 Goals from ABDI SAAD and another from DANIEL KONGO flattered Hanwell as they were largely against the run of play. Credit to Hanwell keeper HICKLING for the half time clean sheet. Alas they could not sustain it and Acton became direct and punched holes through the middle of the pitch scoring once, twice and with the help of a debatable free kick 3 times to equalise. The game then ebbed and flowed this way and that as Acton struck what they though was the winner with 8 minutes to go. STEPHEN ODUKA entered the fray as a late substitute and with barely two minutes left on the clock his deft through ball saw ABDI SAAD complete his deserved hatrick. Second time this season the score remains even against aCTON. Man of the match ABDI SAAD.

Hanwell had a good victory against a poor Sandgate side. SEAN EARLES (2), HARRY HORNE (1) and MICHAEL JAMES made the score sheet. Hanwell allowed Sandgate an equaliser just before the break but they woke up in the second half to seal the victory. Well done good effort in the end.

Hanwell secured the league with a mundane performance against Sandgate. 0 - 0 at half time despite a HARRY HOPKINS thunderbolt against the bar, Hopkins later booked for a nasty challenge. Hanwell upped the tempo in the second scoring three goals through SAFFI FAZLI, JUSTIN MAIZEY and JOSH BROWN to win the league for the second season running. The late AGV consolation mattered not as the title was secured. Well done on this season's first bit of silverware.

Not quite sure how CPC won this game. Hanwell led through most of the first half before a half time equaliser. Goals from LUKE JONES (2) and JOHNATHON BURSE . Should have been sufficient but an own goal and winner with more than a hint of hand ball gave CPC the three points for their four attacks on the Hanwell goal. Hanwell deserved better.

Hanwell let a good position against league leaders Cowley slip to a seemingly poor defeat. Leading the match twice at 1 - 0 and 2 - 1 with goals from TASHAN DWYER and SOLOMON QUARSHIE they could not settle into a winning rhythm. Cowley are top for good reason and their direct play led to an equaliser and a lead as Hanwell took their foot off the gas and panicked in their options. Just before the break DWYER managed to level matters only to see Cowley move down the right side and for a fast cross to be deflected in for a 4- 3 lead at the break. The play was even, if the score was to Cowley. At the start of the second Hanwell gifted Cowley two goals by lack of concentration in the first five minutes - Despite this they battled out the game and were unlucky not to get a least one more for their efforts. Hanwell compete well with the top teams but give goals away too easily. BRADLEY VENTOUR was man of the match for a tireless performance.

This is probably going to be the most 1 sided defeat HT will ever have. If ever a team deserved more from a game of football it was HT. From kick off HT played some of the best football they have played in a long time putting EXP on the back foot. Somehow it was goalless at halftime with HT having hit the post and crossbar 3 or 4 times or hitting the ball straight at the goalie. CRAIG TILLYER in goal was a mere bystander for the entire first half. Unfortunately for HT the second half started before the boys switched on and they found themselves behind within 10 seconds of the second half without touching the ball. This was EXP only chance of the match. HT then totally dominated the second half hitting the post and crossbar a further 4 or 5 times, the best effort being a screamer from LUKE GUYMER from outside the box that crashed against the crossbar. On another day HT could easily have made double figures. Player of the match was a difficult decision as all the boys were magnificent, but it went to ARTHUR ROGERS who terrorised the EXP team with some dazzling skill.

Our second match of the day against EXP finished how the first so easily could have. From kick off HT took the game forward to EXP and it wasn't long before they took the lead when JOSH NORRIS fired home to finish a great move. It wasn't long before HT were 2 up when CHARLIE MURRAY bundled home following a goalmouth scramble. EXP then started to come into the game and CRAIG had to be on his toes to make a couple of saves. HT nicked a third just before half time when a long throw from JOE SHIELS was neatly turned in by GEORGE BYRON. The second half continued where the first left off with HT scoring when OLIVER JONES scored the goal that his hard work deserved. EXP then scored a screamer from outside the box into the top corner of the net. JAMIE GOULD who was in goal at the time had no chance. This didn't dampen HT spirits and they duly went on to score another 2, one from JOE SHIELS and a second from JOSH. A great performance from all the boys but player of the match goes to GEORGE BYRON. Topped a cracking performance with a cracking goal.

Hanwell Town A 0 AGV Youth 2
This was a game that was always going to be 2 - 0 or 1-1 after AGV converted a penalty for the lead. Hanwell pinned them back as they searched for the equaliser and although ABDI SAAD hit the bar it just would not come. Hanwell could not convert second half pressure to goals and having conceded a silly free kick on the edge of the box they could just stand and watch as it was sweetly struck into the top corner giving AGV all three points. Hanwell deserved more.

Hanwell Town 4 Acton Sports 1
Hanwell Town Under 14A team took on a powerful and well organised Acton Sports A team this Sunday and came away with a well earned victory. Acton Sports are a team of titans but Hanwell's commitment and skill proved a match for their physical dominance. At the hard edge of this endeavour were the two smallest players on the pitch, HARRY MAGUIRE and ARRAN WILDING, who defended Hanwells right flank with unerring mettle. Similarly, centre backs LUKE NICHOLAS and AHMED ARBI stuck to their tasks with such diligence as to limit Acton to a single goal which came courtesy of an 'utterly butterly' moment from (otherwise flawless) 'keeper DAVID GRACE. It was the teams overall performance, however, which ultimately earned Hanwell the victory. DECLAN SPEEDE opened the scoring and Robert Keogh doubled the advantage just before the break. The A Team then experienced a period of collective sleeping sickness before DECLAN SPEEDE restored the two goal cushion. HARRY MAGUIRE made it 4 - 1 at the death after good work from ROBERT KEOGH. It is difficult to pick a man of the match from such a consummate team effort. As already mentioned, the defence was superb and there was good work from central midfielders MICHAEL ANTHONY and JACK MCCARTNEY. Ultimately, however, goals win games so MOTM goes to DECLAN SPEEDE for his intrepidity and finesse in front of goal. A big cheers for the whole team, however, for the best performance of the season.

Hanwell Town 2 AGV Youth 3
It was a case of "so near yet so far" for the U9B's this week as they went down 3 goals to 2 to cup finalists AGV youth.
Hanwell started the game brightly and could have been 2 up as they forced the AGV keeper into action. The game then settled until the AGV broke the deadlock just as half time loomed. Hanwell then sprung to life and scored a deserved equaliser right on the half time whistle as a run and long pass from GEORGE PEARSON seemed to evade every one including the AGV keeper as the ball seemed to roll untouched into the bottom left hand corner of the AGV net.
The second half saw Hanwell come under pressure from the outset but only conceded a second through there own indecision on the attacking front allowing AGV time and space to move down field quickly, to score. AGV really tried to wrap the game up as they went in search of number 3, which did come but not as easily as they had hoped. Hanwell showed they were no longer pushovers (7 -0 loss, earlier in the season) as they continued to press with DANDI SYLA going close after a run deep from his own half and then RYAN CARROLL scoring from close range to leave AGV with a bit to think about until then end.
This was another super team effort from the boys and with the AGV Youth coaching staff also acknowledge the improvement, you should all be proud of yourselves. MOTM for Hanwell was ELLIOT MAYNARD who gave a true captains performance from his position in central defence.

This was the proverbial game of 2 halves. HT had total control of the first half, playing some excellent football. It was not long before HT scored the first goal when a great run and cross by BEN GOULD was controlled and finished by ARTHUR ROGERS. HT continued to dominate and took a 2 goal lead when HAMZAH KHAN neatly flicked home a decisive through ball from BEN CHILDS. HT should have been further in front by half time but just failed to get that killer touch on the ball. The second half it was EU turn to take control. They pulled one back early on with a pile driver from just inside the box. EU continued to put the pressure on and got their equaliser with about 5 minutes to go. HT did have a couple of chances to nick the win before the end, but they went astray. In the end a draw was a fair result to a cracking game of football. Well done to both teams. Player of the match JOE SHEILS. His most physical game yet.

Against a strong AFC side, HT put in a fantastic performance. It was HT who took control of the game early on and took the lead when CHARLIE MURRAY latched onto a clearance from the HT defence and fired home from a tight angle. The game then went end to end with both teams having chances, but the HT defence restricted AFC to long range efforts. The second half started with another HT goal. Again it was CHARLIE, this time firing in an unstoppable effort after a defence splitting pass from OLIVER JONES. HT continued to have the better of the game but unfortunately their finishing was just off. HT thought they should have had a penalty when CRAIG was bundled over in the box, but the referee must have had mud in his eyes. AFC caught HT on the break and pulled one back with a neat lob over the goalie for what everyone thought would be just a consolation goal. Unfortunately for HT in the last minute an AFC cross/shot was misjudged my the HT goalie and the ball bounced to high for him to reach and into the goal for an undeserved equaliser. Player of the match was CHARLIE MURRAY. Great performance topped by 2 goals.

Bedfont Eagles 3 Hanwell Town 0
The under 14 A team took on league champions Bedfont Eagles this week but came away with nothing. The Eagles are worthy champions combining a muscular, well organised approach with a good level of skill. Yet the A team gave as good as they got and the match was much closer than the 3-0 score line suggests. Hanwell conceded their first goal needlessly though poor concentration and left gaps at the back as they increasingly chased the game. That said, there were enough chances created to have evened the score but it was just not going to happed. The A's can, at least, finish the season with the knowledge that the champions were not in a different league, so to speak. As for individual performances, the two stand in keepers, PERRY HEASLIP and MICHAEL ANTHONY did there very best and striker DECLAND SPEEDE was a thorn in the side of the Bedfont rearguard. Hanwells best play came from the right sided triumvirate of ROBBIE HEDGES, JACK MACARTNEY and HARRY MAGUIRE with Mr Hedges claiming man of the match for his superlative link up play. A frustrating day for all, however.

A beautiful day for playing football and some beautiful football was played. Hanwell won the first half by being tight at the back and outplaying Hayes. Their reward was a SOLOMON QUARSHIE free kick that bulged the back of the net. In the second half Hayes took the game to Hanwell who withstood it. They broke and folllowing a slick passing move MATTHEW PHILLIPS drew the keeper to double their lead. Hanwell barely touched the ball after that as Hayes threw everything at them and got what proved to be a consolation goal as Hanwell held on for a fine home win and three points. Best footballing performance of the season from Hanwell Under 9 A team. MATTHEW PHILLIPS nipped in to finish a slick passing move to start the scoring. The Hanwell defence withstood a lot of Hayes pressure before riding their luck as a speculative shot from distance by JAMIE BUIST bounced over the keeper to give Hanwell a 2 - 0 half time lead. From the break Hanwell seized the initiative TASHAN DWYER and SOLOMON QUARSHIE scored two quick goals to effectively end the game but DWYER was not content and popped in tow more to earn a hatrick. The nature of the style of play meant man of match was none of the scorers not even the hatrick scorer. That accolade goes to KYLE LACY ANDREWS who seemed to be involved in everything from start to finish. Great performance - we want more.

The U9b's first season came to a disappointing end with a lifeless performance that saw them finally go down 2 goals to 1 to Manor Youth B. This was a match that HT were up for from the first whistle. On a bigger than normal pitch which suited HT some of the football played was outstanding. After about 5 mins HT were awarded a penalty for a foul on ARTHUR ROGERS. He dusted himself down to take it but unfortunately pulled it wide. It didn't take him long to get on the scoresheet as within 2 mins ARTHUR put HT in front. HT went on to dominate the rest of the half scoring 2 more goals, 1 from HAMZAH KHAN and a second from ARTHUR, coming after a fantastic 1-2 with HAMZAH. CY did nick 1 back, but HT deserved their half time lead. The second half started with ARTHUR completing his hat-trick. Not to be outdone, HAMZAH went and scored 2 more to complete his hat-trick. Every time HT went forward you thought they would score but only one more came, BEN GOULD making it number 7. This has to be some of the best football HT have played this season. Well done everybody. It would have been easy to give player of the match to ARTHUR or HAMZAH for their Hat-tricks, but this week it went to SAMIR BOUANANE who was brilliant at the back cancelling out every CY attack.

A hard fought game against some big boys. HT battled really well, but both teams seemed to cancel each other out with neither goalkeeper having to make a save. At the end of the first half the game was goalless. The second half saw the game come to life. HT had a couple of chances but were unfortunately caught on the break and fell behind. Their heads never dropped and they battled back superbly, finally forcing the equaliser their play deserved when LUKE GUYMER forced home a corner. BE re-took the lead when they headed home a corner. HT once again battled back but this time they just couldn't force the second equaliser. An unfortunate mix up in the HT defence allowed BE to score a 3rd goal which was a bit hard on the HT boys. This was a good learning experience for the boys as it showed them that sometimes luck goes against you. and you don't win every game. Player of the match was OMAR BARZEY RILEY. Solid performance.

There is a dreadful song, often played at wedding receptions which talks about 'Saving the best 'til last.' If it wasn't such an insipid dirge of a tune it would have been an appropriate for the A team who ran out comfortable 4-1 winners against the might of Charville Athletic in their last match of the season. But what songs would have described this titanic performance more accurately? 'Keeper, DAVID GRACE merited the composure and power of Brahms while the defence had the 12 bar solidity of early Status Quo. MICHAEL ANTHONY was the egocentric creativity of Mozart while the rest of the midfield showed the combative unity of Rage Against the Machine. In attack, Robert Keogh and DECLAND SPEEDE had the assured, confident aggression of Public Enemy and the team as a whole were a U2 of togetherness and purpose! Goals came from MICHAEL ANTHONY and DECLAND SPEEDE (2) with a fourth from a hapless Charville back pass. Man of the match is a near impossible task with 15 meritorious performances so the award goes to the player who typified the team spirit the most, JACK MCCARTNEY who played out of his skin and ran himself to exhaustion at right back. Well done all. Bring on next season!!

Hanwell continued their good form to become the only team to beat Ballers on their dreaded astro-turf pitch. HT played football from the start and would have been in front early on but for the Ballers goalkeeper who was in fantastic form. HT created chances throughout the first half but all were squandered and they were nearly hit with a sucker punch right before halftime. CRAIG TILLYER in goal had nothing to do but had to be on his toes to deny Ballers with their only meaningfull attack. The second half was much the same, with HT playing the better football and finally went in front when BEN CHILDS picked up the ball on the left wing, cut inside and curled one into the top corner. A truly spectacular goal. It was always going to take something special to beat a goalie on his game. HT could and should have extended their lead but the Ballers goalie refused to be beaten again. The 1-0 scoreline makes it seem like a tight match but it would not have flattered HT if they had scored 5 or 6. Player of the match BEN CHILDS . Hayes & District League Under 12 Cup Final
Hanwell Town 2 Sandgate 1
Hanwell Town retained the League Cup, completing a second consecutive double in the process. However, they made hard work of it. Starting brightly Hanwell started the game the brighter knocking the ball around and creating several chances that went begging. Sandgate then scored against the run of play and Hanwell were the poorer team for the remainder of the half. Hanwell change their midfield but could do nothing against the long ball tactics of Sandgate. CALLUM BUIST stood resolute in defence and some good goalkeeping
kept the deficit to one at the break.
Hanwell returned to the pitch invigorated and as in the first half dominated from the off - fortunately this time getting their reward. A low driven cross by SAFI FAZLI caught a hapless Sandgate defender to beat the keeper to level the scores.
Hanwell then took control of the game and they refound their passing game. JOSH BROWN had a glorious opportunity to double the tally but it cleared the bar and some good keeping denied Hanwell for almost the remainder of the period. Just as both sides seemed resigned to extra time a ball across the box found FAZLI who lashed it into the net to win the game and to retain the trophy. BUIST and FAZLI can argue about who most deserved man of the match but the trophy stays at Reynolds Lane for 1 more season. Well done.
