Hanwell Town 0 Forest United 1

A direct footballing Forest United proved victorious over Hanwell U16s in the club's first league fixture of the season. Played in tropical temperatures on a hard pitch creating a bouncy ball,  conditions clearly suited the style of the away side.  Much to be taken out of the game which so easily could have gone the other way although Hanwell picked up two bookings for their efforts rather than the three points.

A game that tested the resolve of the U16 team to its limit. Finfing themselves chasing the game having gone 3 - 1 down the match turned on an unfortunate incident. Shortly after taking the field as a substitute SHANE SMART fell awkwardly after a challenge and was carried off injured. This seemed to galvanise Hanwell who struck three times to turn the tie in their favour. Two goals for NOUR BAKAR and one apiece from NATHAN BURLAND and JACK KELLY secured the first U16 points of the season. Man of the match was the resolute JACK ELLIOT. The club's best wishes go to SHANE in his recovery.

 Hayes 4 Hanwell Town 5

A pulsating opening away win for the U13 in their West Surrey league fixture. Going 2 - 0 up Hanwell seemed to have the game under control but Hayes fought back strongly to wrestle back the initiative and take the lead 3 - 2. Hanwell recovered and  retook the lead 4 - 3 but a goal apiece made the final result 5 - 4. Truth is the Hanwell goals tally should have been more but scorers SAFI FAZLI (3) and GEORGE WILLIAMS (2) will have to settle for just the 5 betweenthem this week.

Man of the Match JAMES COX was outstanding in goal for Hanwell saving a penalty and Hanwell's bacon numerous times. Charville Athletic 4 Hanwell Town 1

It is common after a defeat like this one to want to play another match straight away in order to relieve the dissonance that a poor performance generates.  There are many excuses that we could proffer up to explain the abject display by Hanwell but none would really justify the result. In the end Charville were fitter, more determined and played better as a team. Hanwell A team were  disparate and disjointed, losing all the fifty-fifties and were second to the loose ball. There were some redeeming features, though;debutants MAX DUFFY and JAMIE LANGTON looked good (but are probably wondering what they have let themselves in for) and HARRY MAGUIRE put himself above criticism with a determined, urgent and spirited performance. MICHAEL ANTHONY scored Hanwells goal and man of the Match was HARRY MAGUIRE

SEAN EARLES (2), LUCAS HUHN and HARRY HORNE scored for Hanwell. The referee refused two appeals for penalties which denied Hanwell what would have been a fairer result. Coaches agreed that game was a friendly.

Halliford Boys 1 Hanwell Town 3
SAFI FAZLI scored a free kick that was pure Roberto Carlos. Unfortunately, the referee noticed an offside and disallowed it as Hanwell trailed 1 - 0 at the break. Playing on a postage stamp pitch, Hanwell struggled to adapt. However, in the second half SAFI FAZLI completed a classy hatrick to secure the points for Hanwell.

Hanwell Town 13 White City Youth  0

Hanwell ran riot against an under-strength White City Youth, knocking in 13 goals during an excellent team performance. Hanwell were six up at half-time and didn’t drop the pace in the second half, some fine passing leading to further goals.TRAVIS BECKFORD led the way with four, while HARRY FIELD and RICHIE MAKEPEACE both scored hat-tricks. Sean Kelly scored one and saw another cross lead to an own goal while JAKE SHIELS opened the scoring.

The under 12s are essentially a new team New team that are still settling down. At times their shape was awkward. An exception to the rule was JOE BORK a striker  who did seemed to settle and cause many problems for Junior Bees. He tackled well and rightly was Hanwell's man of the match. The for Hanwell being scored by JACK STEPHENS.

After a short period of settling down Hanwell slowly began to impose themselves on WDBC. Goals from SOLOMON QUARSHIE, a deflected effort from KYLE LACY ANDREWS and QUARSHIE again (who went on to score 5) made it 3 - 0 before the break. QUARSHIE scored a belter straight after the whistle in the second left WDBC  visibly deflated. Further goals from DANDI SYLA (2), another for QUARSHIE  and TASHAN DWYER completed the scoring. Great team performance to start the season.

Hanwell fought back after goals from CONNOR O'NEIL and PETER BROWNE were pegged back and they looked to be off to a defeat in the first game of the season. However, a last minute strike from EDDIE OKAIDJA saved the point that Hanwell richly deserved from a battling performance.

Hanwell Town (Lions) 3 Brook House 1
It needed a tremendous team performance to defeat a quality Brookhouse side. In a first half that saw some fantastic football, both sides looked to get their noses in front with chances being created at both ends. But with good work from CRAIG TILLYER in goal and man of the match GEORGE BYRON twice sneaking in
to score, Hanwell went in at half time 2-0 up.

The second half saw Brookhouse continue to push Hanwell back but the defence stood strong, with a little help from the woodwork on a couple of occasions. Still, Hanwell continued to look dangerous on the break with HAMZAH KHAN holding the ball up impressively and linking with the midfield runners. CRAIG was finally beaten when a shot deflected passed him off a Hanwell defender. Hanwell held firm and the result was sealed with a last minute strike from BEN GOULD. A great result on the opening day of the season.

Under 9B
 Yeading/HEW2 Hanwell Town 2

A good opening fixture which saw Hanwell take control early on with MIRAN BESARANI dominating in the centre of the pitch. It was midway through the first half when Hanwell finally made their dominance count. OMAR BARZEY RILEY latched on to a neat through ball from CHARLIE MURRAY to beat the keeper. The lead could and should have been extended before half time, but it wasn't to be. 1-0 at half time.

The second half started with Yeading coming out strong at the Hanwell defence. JACK PICKERING in goal kept them out with some fantastic saves. Yeading finally got their equalizer following a mix up in the Hanwell defence, and then took the lead a few minutes later. Hanwell then regained the upper hand as they pushed for the equalizer. JOE SHEILS crashed the ball against the post direct from a corner, but Hanwell finally scored when OMAR scored his second. Right at the death Hanwell almost nicked all 3 points when OMAR beat 3 defenders and cracked one goalwards only for the keeper to tip it round the post. Player of the match OMAR BARZEY RILEY. Keep up the good work lads.

Anyone who tells me this was a great game for a neutral is very likely to get a boot up the backside! This may well have been a nine goal thriller to some detached observer but to those with a vested interest it was a torturous and frustrating 80 minutes of pain!!   DECLAND SPEEDE'S opening goal provided a good start and things looked comfortable. However, the hesitancy monster came and infected the defence with errors in concentration and Hanwell suddenly found themselves 2-1 down. MICHAEL ANTHONY converted SPEEDE'S cross to square things at half time and the A team used the break to reorganise and focus.
The second half started well but two episodes of uncommitted defending saw Hounslow take a 4 - 2 lead. To their credit Hanwell pressed on and flung themselves at the Hounslow defence in what seemed a futile attempt at chasing the game. But what do I know? Not much, apparently as Hanwell made it 4 - 3 through MICHAEL ANTHONY'S conversion of DECLAND SPEEDE'S tenacious running then 4 -4 though MICHAEL'S own individual skill and aggression. The A team were playing much better football now though the winner was a less elegant affair. With only a couple of minutes to go, MAX DUFFY'S free kick sliced through the box, missing a plethora of flailing heads and legs to deceived the Hounslow 'keeper and nestle in the far corner. 5 - 4 to Hanwell it stayed and a relieved and exhausted team staggered off the pitch as the fat lady sang. However, had there had some more urgency and concentration the result may have been well beyond Hounslow by half time. That said, the character and tenacity of the team to rescue this game from 4 - 2 down showed what this team is capable off when playing to their potential. There may well have been seven players out today and several players in unfamiliar roles but it was still a very hard way to earn three points.
HARRY MAGUIRE was once again a man of the match contender, playing out of position at left back. 'Keeper DAVID GRACE played with a stinking cold and a sore shoulder and SAM KHARAS hobble on for most of the second half  with a twisted ankle in an unfamiliar centre back role. MICHAEL ANTHONY showed Brentford what they missed out on with a well taken hattrick, however, man of the match goes to stand in captain DECLAND SPEEDE for his goal, his two assists and his 'not going out like that' attitude.
Now, how about a nice, simple 2-0 next week, eh lads?

It appeared as if Hanwell failed to turn up in this game. Too many players content to simply make up the numbers. The lack of competetive spirit gifted NGU chance after chance and they capitalised. Disappointing perforance from a side that know they can do so much better.

Missing players from key positions, Hanwell struggled against a strong and well organised Cowley side. One down at half time, they were caught napping by two quick Cowley goals after the break. RICHIE MAKEPEACE did well to pull one back with an individual effort and for a time Hanwell threatened. But a penalty gave the initiative back to Cowley and two more goals followed as the home team tired

Hanwell Girls (U12)
Headstone Manor 1 Hanwell Girls 9

Great excitment for  Hanwell girls under 12's first league game The Girls dug in from the word go, passing, supporting and encouragaging each other.

Our first goal came from our Captain ASHLEY CHEATLEY'S sheer speed and determination as the first shot was blocked and she calmy knocked in the rebound. After the first goal (infact Hanwell Girls first ever competititive goal) the teams confidence just grew and the goals seemed to just flow. The second goal coming from a great ASHLEY and OLIVIA REDMOND one two, with a clinical ASHLEY finish in the bottom right corner (Ashley went on the score 5 in the game).

In defence we had GABY BROWN on the left and ELLEN CLABURN on the right with both players
sticking to the thier duties and not letting anything pass them. Gaby is usually in midfield for us, but in true team spirit agreed to play in defence and even at the end of the game agreed to be our keeper to give ASHLEIGH HART a chance on the field, good work Gaby! ELLEN was brilliant in defence showing no sign of tiring, a great defensive performance. There was only one shot on goal in the first half  which ASHLEIGH dealt with this with ease. She was brilliant in goal, and showed real talent knowing when and when not to come out and meet the ball (watch out David James).

In the mid field ALI on the left and LULU on the right with both players linking up very well. The mid fleid had alot of work to do, constantly running back to help in defence and supporting the srikers. Lulu's hard work
payed off with a superb typical Frank Lampard style goal. ALI as always used her space on the left, running and creating gaps, her passing was accurate and did not give a single ball away. Ali was unlucky not to score in the second half as she shot a lovely ball on target but their keeper did well to save the ball. Praises for ALI HORNE and SAM BULLEN as they both volunteered to substitute during the game, well done girls for good team spirit.

Even though SAM only played one half, she impressed from the moment the second half whistle blew, showing determination upfront and running back to defend against corners. SAM knows how to find space, linking up well with ASHLEY. SAM would have had  her name on the goal sheet but due to an injury had to come off early, but no worries as next week is coming!!.

OLIVIA REDMOND having already scored once in the first half, continued throughout the game to impress, running everywhere putting in alot of hard work, and this payed of with a hatrick and numerous assists, for this reason, although closely challenged, OLIVIA has been nominated as Player of the Match.

Final Score 9-1

A fine win by a battling Hanwell in a truly competetive game. Two goals by LUKE JONES, the second on the turn looked sufficient for victory but Old Is were awarded a penalty midway through the second half that gave them momentum. Hanwell were left hanging on at ther end and the home team can feel slightly aggrieved not to have had a share of the spoils. Gret win for Hanwell.

Hanwell Town 0 Brook House 3

A disappointing game for Hanwell after a ten minute period where they played some neat football. An injury to LUKE FRANCIS meant reorganising and after a mistake Brook House broke to take the lead. This was doubled shortly before the interval. Hanwell were rocking and the next goal proved crucial as a slip let in Brook  House to seal the win. Against a team that won 10-1 in their previous match HT started like a house on fire. Within the first 5 mins HT were 1-0 ahead, OLIVER JONES latching on to a neat through ball from GEORGE BYRON to bury it past the HEW goalie. That was to be all the scoring for HT in the first half as their tidy football went out the window to let HEW back into the match. The equalizer came towards the end of the first half when HT failed to close down a HEW player outside the area. He stuck it in the top corner leaving CRAIG TILLYER in goal with no
chance. Half time 1-1.

The second half started with HT regaining control of the match, and it wasn't long before HT retook the lead when OLIVER scored his second. HT went further in the lead when OLIVER completed his Hat-trick to score HT's third of the match. Once again the foot was taken off the pedal to allow HEW back into the game and they scored another cracker into the top corner. The points were wrapped up for HT when OLIVER burst through the HEW rearguard to cap off a Player Of The Match performance and score his and HT's 4th. A good result against a strong team

Under 9 B
Hanwell Town Tigers 4 Bedfont Eagles 2

An entertaining match between 2 evenly matched teams. HT started the better and should have taken the lead from the early chances that they created. However all the early dominance came to nothing and HT were caught napping from a BE corner. A lack of marking allowed a BE player with a free header that left
JACK PICKERING in goal with no chance. HT continued to create chances but failed to score before half time. 0-1 at half time.

The second half continued in much the same way as the first. HT created the better chances and when BE had a go JACK in goal refused to be beaten a second time. The equalizer finally came following a neat passing move between JOE SHEILS and JOHN CAHILL that put JAMIE GOULD in the clear. He gave the BE keeper no chance with a crisp finish into the bottom corner. A winner would have been deserved but a draw was a fair result. Player of the match THOMAS BAIGENT, a rock at the back.

What a way to start in your first game for Hanwell a goal from the very  fast ALRON BROWN.After the goal LSA looked very dangerous. However after two fantastic saves from SAM GUNNERWICTH the score stayed at 1-0 at H T. A solid performance for our first league of the season, the team kept their shape throughout the match and as a result dominated possession. The only frustration in an excellent first half performance was our inability to turn our dominance into a goal.

The second half saw more cutting edge to our play with TIA PRIOR providing a number of chances. Our play was nearly rewarded with a goal 10 minutes into the second half when TIA PRIOR who was excellent from
start to finish provided Robbie Connolly with a goal scoring opportunity which Colts cleared off the line. Finally we where rewarded with a goal five minutes from time when ELLIOT FLETCHER caused panic in the Colts
defence and forced an own goal. A good performance all round. Well done! Man of the Match TIA PRIOR

Three points, four goals and a clean sheet. Nothing to complain about, really. DECLAN SPEEDE got the first and ROBERT KEOGH made it two shortly after the break. MAX DUFFY scored with a reasonable sort of half-decent free kick (Ok, Roberto Carlos would have been proud of it!)and SAMMIN KHARAS made it four with a great run and finish. The defence were subjected to an aerial bombardment after the break but LUKE NICHOLAS, JOE WEBB and JAMIE LANGTON were dependable and brave and our 'keeper was seldom troubled. PAUL GORMALLY and ARRAN NELSON also put in good shifts but man of the match goes to SAM KHARAS whose overall game was top notch. Well done to all though, for not getting frustrated and playing, what was, at times, fantastic football.

A score that does not tell the story. Hanwell could and should have scored several goals in this game. An inspired perfromace from the Charville keeper, a missed penalty, the odd odd decision by the ref leaves a flattering scoreline to say the least. The teams were much closer but it is all about taking your chances.

A bad start for Hanwell as the keeper was injured in the warm up meaning EWAN VASSALLO played in goal - so good he was the man of the match. Although the score was 2-1 Hanwell played some good football SANCHEZ BANGER being taken down in the area for a penalty. Harry step up and took the pen but missed and JAMIE VERNON followed in the rebound to pass it into the net.

A fair result would have been a draw, not the result we wanted but the football is getting better.

Hanwell earned an away point against early season league leaders Isleworth Colts in a hard fought game – yet still left the match disappointed. One-nil down at half-time, Hanwell came out firing on all cylinders at the start of the second half, with a header from NICK SCOTT and further goals from RICHIE MAKEPEACE and MARK CHAPMAN putting them firmly in charge. But they failed to convert further chances which would have killed the game and were punished when Colts scored two more themselves and finished the stronger team.

Girls (U 12)
Harrow St Marys 0 Hanwell Town 6

Another fine win to extend the unbeaten run. OLIVIA REDMOND and ASHLEY CHEATLEY scored as Hanwell Girls beat Harrow St Mary to extend their unbeaten run to two games!

The girls went into their second game with a positive attitude and when Olivia's deflected free kick gave us our first goal of the game after 20 minutes, that indeed gave us the confidence needed to break down a very organised Harrow St Mary's defence. ASHLEY CHEATLEY scored a lovely goal and had it not been for the absolutely superb saves made by their keeper she could have had 4 or 5 more. The team played well creating 8 or 10 genuine goal scoring chances which on any other day would have gone in.

The midfield was excellent, with  LULU TUCKER, ELLIE VALENTINE and SAMANTHA BULLEN all in fine form making great passes and controlling the play.

GABY BROWNE , MOLLY EARLES and NIAMH EARLES gave us the shape we needed in defence, however, Harrow St Mary were not giving up , and they responded with fierce commitment and quality upfront, forcing our keeper ASHLEIGH HARTE to make another fine save. Excellent work from our defenders as Harrow St Mary were limited to just one shot on target in the first half and once again in the second when Harrow St Marys had the numerical advantage in attack, only to have their shot saved by ELLIE VALENTINE (good work Ellie and Ashleigh).

KATIE EGAN put her mark on the game the minute she came on, putting together some great passes and was unlucky to see her shot on goal go just wide. SAM BULLEN was a continual threat in front of goal confusing the defence and making the keeper work. ASHLEIGH HARTE swapped from keeper to centre forward in the second half and was extremely unlucky to see her typical Michael Owen volley saved.

Excellent team spirit from SAMANTHA and ELLIE as they helped out in defence Great finishing from OLIVIA REDMOND and ASHLEY CHEATLEY gave us another victory. Well-done girl's.

Four goals from LUKE JONES and one each for LOUIS AKIOYA and KYLE WILSON were sufficient for Hanwell to win the game. First 11 a side game of the season against a side we have beaten easily in a friendly,  just over a month ago.

Started off very well with plenty of passing, BEN CLEMENTS and MATTHEW LEE were causing Yeading plenty of problems in their defence with their skills. It was only a matter of time before Hanwell would score and they did so after good team through BEN. But just like last season Hanwell felt sorry for our opponents and gifted them with an equaliser.

Hanwell picked themselves up and a neat 1-2 of MATTHEW LEE'S head put BEN through on goal  he slotted it past the keeper, and, Mathew made sure it went in (poking the goal over the line) but again Hanwell went back to sleep to allow another equaliser, just before half-time JOHN CONWAY hit the best goal of the game a half volley over his shoulder leaving the keeper no chance but Hanwell could not hold out and they levelled right on half time.

After the break Hanwell ran out of steam, and were always chasing the game making it a disappointing first game to the season.

Cowley Youth 2 Hanwell Town 1

A very competitive performance against last seasons double winners. Sloppy marking led to Cowley breaking the deadlock before the break. Hanwell were put on the back foot from the restart forcing some good saves from keeper KYLE LACEY ANDREWS and after fending off 5 or 6 corners eventually conceded a header from a Cowley corner. Hanwell battled back and first DANDI SYLA and JAMIE BUIST had good opportunities to nick a goal back. Finally Hanwell got some reward after TASHAN DWYER battled to poke the ball home. Time ran out for Hanwell who ended the stronger team. If they could take their chances this side would be up there competing for the prizes.

Hounslow Borough 3 Hanwell Town 2
A much improved performance from U10B's saw them more than contribute to an exciting game of football, where at the end they got no return for the effort. Hanwell fell 2 goals behind as the first half progressed but this was not a true reflection of the game as they gifted HB their second, and then hit the post and eventually scored through  midfielder SAMIR SHAFFI, as they dominated the closing period of the first half to only trail by the odd goal.

The second half saw Hanwell camped inside the HB penalty area only to have an equalising goal chalked off, see the HB keeper make a number of good saves, and then to add insult to injury, HB score there 3rd on the classic counter attack.

Hanwell did not cave in and a goal from "steady" EDDIE OKAIDJA saw them narrow the gap once again but eventually time ran out. MOTM went to the "team" as more performances like this will hold them in stead.

Hanwell Town Tigers 5 VSB Utd  0

This was a proper game of 2 halves. The first half starting pretty evenly.  Both sides created chances without testing the goalkeeper. As the Tigers started to get into the match, they started to take control and finally took the lead when JOSH NORRIS finished off a lovely move with a crisp left foot finish after being put clean through by JOHN CAHILL. JOSH almost grabbed a second with a good solo effort but was thwarted by the VSB keeper. Half time 1-0 The second half belonged solely to the Tigers. CHARLIE MURRAY made it 2-0 with a rather fortunate goal. He took a pot shot from outside the area and the ball took a nasty bounce in front of the VSB keeper and looped over his head. This seemed to knock the stuffing out of the opposition and apart from a free kick that JACK PICKERING saved superbly, the Tigers dominated. JOHN CAHILL capped a fine personal performance with 2 goals but the best goal was saved till last. OMAR BARZEY RILEY picked up the ball just inside his own half and went on a run. He skipped past 3 VSB players and buried the ball into the bottom corner. This goal along with his masterful defensive performance earned OMAR player of the match. If the Tigers can perform to the level of that second half performance then they won't have many problems this season. Well done boys.

After last weeks great performance Hanwell continued with good passing, support, and encouragement.  Goals from CALEB JACOBS, CURTIS CYRUS, CALUM  CHESHIRE and ALEX YOUNGE helped HT get a draw. Well done to CALUM CHESHIRE scoring his  first goal for HT and also ALEX YOUNGE for his special goal at the very end of the  match.

Hanwell Town 2 Manor Colts 2

A highly enjoyable and competitive game saw Manor Colts take the lead 10 minutes into the first half after a defensive lapse.  ANDREW DIXON lead the line well and was unlucky with 2 first half chance's. Our 2nd half performance was much more assured with the reintroduction of ELLIOT FLETCHER into midfield after a first half injury.  8 minutes into the second half ANDREW DIXON cut inside from the left wing and scored with a beautifully struck shot to equalise. Hanwell dominated possession in the 2nd half but were caught on the break and Manor Colts restored their lead. Hanwell reacted brilliantly and after a period of sustained pressure and won a corner, TIA PRIOR delivered an excellent cross which MANINDER BAINS struck on the half volley to level the scores at 2-2. Hanwell finish the stronger of the two teams with ELLIOT FLETCHER driving forward from midfield his shot was deflected into the path of TIA PRIOR whose shot hit the post 2 minutes from time. The basis for our performance was an excellent display at the back from ETHAN "BOBBY" MOORE at right back and DANIEL OTCHERE who was superb in goal. A good performance all round. Well done! Man of the Match  ELLIOT FLETCHER
