Hanwell Town scored the fasterst goal in the West Surrey League this season in just 15 sconds. From the kick off the ball was played up to SAFFI FAZLI who laid it off to FULTON CHAMBERS-JOSEPH to lash it home for the perfect start to the season. Unfortunately, the effect of this was to trigger the impressive and obviously stronger home side into action. They battered Hanwell from then until the 68 minute when finally the defence was breached. Credit to all the Hanwell players who gave thieir all and never gave up the contest and managed to see out the game for one of the hardest fought away points they will win all season.
Hanwell Town 3 Harrow St Mary's 1
The new season sees the U16 `A' team start life in the Harrow Premiership where they can expect to experience a steep learning curve and a higher standard of football than they've been used to. Having finished as champions last season in the Hayes and District league it was important that the team developed and set itself new standards to aim. Teams of the standard of Harrow Saint Mary's will be par for the course, week in, week out in the HPL and the `A' team will need to adjust quickly if they bare to survive. This adjustment was lacking for the first twenty minutes of this game and Hanwell found themselves one - nil down after a well taken goal left the `keeper KYLE HOGAN no chance. For a while it looked as if was going to be a long season but centre back paring of LUKE NICHOLAS and ASHLEY DALEY kept Hanwell in the game. To survive Hanwell needed to show their mettle and, fortunately, this team has character in spades. DAN FLEMING scored a good equaliser and Hanwell began to find their confidence and the crisp passing that has defined this team returned and half time saw the `A's starting to dominate.
The re-start had Hanwell pouring forward with vim and brio and two goals from ANTOINE `CLARKY' CLARK put the game way beyond HSM's who found Hanwell almost impossible to live with once they hit top gear. MICHAEL ANTHONY hit the upright twice and cross bar once as the A team tried to extend their lead and HSM were restricted to the occasional foray forward that seldom troubled the Hanwell `keeper. Both teams tired towards the end but The `A's were in complete control at the death.
There were great performances all over the park and man of the match was a tough call. DAN FLEMING did well at both right back and striker. Clarky was the difference up front, while PAUL GORMALLY was assured and confident at left back. The man of the match however, goes to captain ASHLEY DALEY for a superlative display of defending and leadership
Hanwell Town 4 Manor Colts 1
The U15's played Manor Colts, big lads all over the park. Hanwell started well and had a lot of the ball in the first half but could not hit the net, when they did hit the target a Colts player would be in the way. It finished 0-0 at half time but Hanwell should have be 4-5 up with the amount of attacks on goal.
The team played well and at half time the talk was about taking opportunities in front of goal. The 2nd half started like the 1st it was MATTHEW GROUNDWATER WHO scored the 1st when the keeper was under pressure drop the ball for Matt to tap it in. The 2nd came from ALEX PAINE a good drive inside the box, but the best and most pleasing was the 3rd as it was a set piece we have been working on in training from a corner, that was from PATRICK CANNON who had a strong game in midfield. To finishing it off MATTHEW hit a great shot from the edge of the box to score his 2nd goal, we let in a late goal which was disappointing but overall it nice to start off with a win in the new season
Enfield Rangers 2 Hanwell Town 6
Manor Youth 0 Hanwell Town 5
Hanwell Town 2 Westway Youth 1
A tight game due to Hanwell making hard work of a determined and energetic West Way. A nervous start could have seen Hanwell trailing five minutes into the game. Finally Hanwell settled, scoring once in the first half and once in the second, though never managing to dominate totally. A last minute goal from West Way made it a tighter game than it should have been. Hanwell won despite not playing well.First game, three points, job done. Goal scorers LUKE JONES-1 JOHNATHAN BIRSE-1.
Hanwell Town 3 Watling Club 3
This was one to put in the scrapbook and hopefully the start of a good season. Although 3-0 down at half time and very exhausted there was a never say die attitude that shone through
Watling were determined to beat us by any means possible resulting in two late tackles on both BEN CLEMENTS & MATTHEW LEE leaving both players on the floor for several minute, it was amazing that the refs do not produce a yellow on either ocassion. This game really should have been sewn up by Hanwell but the finishing just was not there in open play. All Hanwell's goals came from set pieces two from JACK MCINNIS and two from BEN CLEMENTS. The game went to extra time and eventually penalties on a very hot day. Hanwell won the penalty shoot out 4-2. Special thanks goes to SAM GNASH and MATTHEW WRAY who covered the keepers position, We will continue to rotate players in goal until a suitable replacement is found.
Hanwell Town London 2 Soccer Academy 2
The U11s began their first 11 aside campaign with a battling but in the end unsatisfying draw. As both teams looked to settle into the bigger game it was Hanwell who played the more controlled expansive football. LSA were limited to the odd breakaways one such finally breaching the Hanwell back line leaving the keeper no chance. Hanwell came back strongly and KYLE LACEY ANDREWS hit the bar with a powerful shot. 1-0 at the turn. From the restart it was all about the next goal and Hanwell sustained strong pressure before turning the game with a series of corners that LSA did well to defend. Finally from defence the ball broke to MATTHEW PHILLIPS on the right who put in a high cross (or was it a shot?) that was goalward and impossible to stop. Hanwell pushed for the win and with 5 minutes to go let LSA back in for that what was assumed to be the winning goal. Hanwell pushed on and somehow and someone managed to poke the ball past the stranded LSA keeper for the equaliser. No doubt the rematch will see two much more settled teams fight for the honours.
White Wings 7 Hanwell Town Lions 1
The new season kicked off with a terrible result for the Lions. The match started in a positive manner with the Lions playing some attractive football and took the lead when OLIVER JONES slotted the ball home after a nice through ball from ARTHUR ROGERS. The Lions continued to dominate the match creating plenty of chances and should have scored a few more. They came unstuck however, when with their first shot of the match WW equalized, and then fell behind with the last kick of the half. This shouldn't have been a problem as the Lions were playing well enough and creating enough chances to respond. It was WW who scored at the start of the second half and the Lions appeared to give in. A further 4 goals were put into the Lions net and had it not been for CRAIG TILLYER in goal, who made quite a few good saves, the score would have been into double figures. The Lions won't play like this again all season and hopefully this will serve as the kick up the bum they need to spur them on. Player of the match, CRAIG TILLYER. Good goalkeeping display despite conceding 7.
Hanwell Town Panthers 4 Ballers 1
It was a good strong start to the new premier division season by the panthers. A 4-1 away victory against an Old Actonions team who started the stronger in the first 5 Min's, Hanwell settled and began to play as a team scoring the first goal from a TOMOS TABERN left foot strike which flew past the keeper. The was another left foot shoot from central midfielder DAVID GORDON and REECE FRANCIS made it 3 before the break with a thunderbolt of a shot. The second half started with Hanwell complacent with a 3-0 score line which cost them a goal when Old Actonions scored after 10Min's, this seemed to wake Hanwell up and they went very close on a number of occasions hitting the post etc until man of the match DAVID GORDON scored the forth to make sure all 3 points went to Hanwell Town.
Old Actonians 7 Hanwell Town 2
A dissapointing result for the Tigers in their first game in the top division, but a performance they can be proud of. Playing against last seasons premier league champions, the Tigers started brightly and almost took the lead when CHARLIE MURRAY went through but unfortunately put his shot wide. It was Ballers who did take the lead and went on to score 2 more to lead 3-0 at half time. The Tigers kept going with MIRAN BESARANI in central midfield battling for everything. It was unfortunate for the Tigers that while pressing for a way back into the game, Ballers kept scoring. After conceding 4 more to find themselves 7-0 down most teams would have conceded defeat, not the Tigers! They kept going and kept trying to score and their determination eventually paid off when MIRAN hammered one into the top corner. They didn't stop there. CHARLIE got his first of the season with a nicely taken shot and MIRAN got his second when he poked home a goalmouth scramble. Ballers became nervous and the Tigers looked like scoring more but unfortunately time ran out. Every player battled hard and never gave up but player of the match went to MIRAN BESARANI, who was outstanding and topped it off with 2 goals.
Ballers 6 Hanwell Town 1
Hanwell Town 2 Bedfont Eagles 10
An under strength Hanwell were defeated today by a very good side that fully deserved their convincing victory. Hanwell were 4-0 down at half time as a result of some sloppy defending and excellent play from Bedfont. Hanwell failed to demonstrate the never say die attitude of last season. Hanwell were 7-0 behind when LIAM ATTRIDGE scored a consolation goal on the break. TIA PRIOR made the score 8-2 when finishing from an acute angle. Bedfont then eased to a 10-2 victory. The main positive for Hanwell was yet another excellent performance From ELLIOT FLETCHER in midfield, his commitment; work rate and unselfish play are an example for all. Man of the Match ELLIOT FLETCHER
Harefield United 1 Hanwell Town 2
Goals from PETER DAVIES and NOUR BAKR gave Hanwell a hard fought but thoroughly deserved victory away at HAREFIELD, always tough opposition.
Mill Hill Rangers 1 Hanwell Town 2
Hanwell U16s produced a fine awy display to beat a tough Mill Hill Rangers side. Goals from DANIEL FLEMING and ROBERT KEOGH who popped up for the winner capping a fine team display.
Hanwell Town 4 Pinner Albion 3

Lost 5 - 4 on pens
Hanwell are left to concentrate on the League after a tigt but ultimately unsuccesful cup battle with the CCs. Two halves of football produced no goal and somehow penalties always seemed inevitable. 8 minutes into extra time CC's broke the deadlock but TRAVIS BECKFORD with a screamer restored parity before they could really celebrate. Penalties it was. Shooting second the first 9 netted but head up GEORGE its a list of the greats you join SCHEVCENKO, LAMPARD, GERRARD
Hanwell Town 8 Magix 4
Hanwell got their season off to a confident start with an 8-4 home win against Magic. At one point, a hard working Hanwell were cruising at 7-1. But the heat, and lack of concentration and only having one sub told in the last 10 minutes when they were really made to up their game once more. A goal from NICK SCOTT , his second of the match, put the result beyond doubt and ended any faint chance of a come back from Magix. The other goals were from LOUIS GUY(2), RICHIE MAKEPEACE, JOE COWLER, SACHI FLEMING and SEAN KELLY

Hanwell Town 7 Manor Youth 0
This was much one sided affair with HANWELL taking control as early as 8 mins with a great strike from BEN CLEMENTS , four minutes later the score was doubled when JOHN CONWAY tapped home. JACK MCINISS (MOM) seemed to continue from his previous weeks match and dominate the centre of midfield. The first half was pretty much event free with little defending to do LUKE HUTCHINGS in Goal tidying up nicely, BEN added another strike after 22 mins and we went into the second half 3 nil up and looking good for the three points.
Changes at half time saw SAM GNASH go in goal and DQUAN BABB moving left to right. This gave us some width allow DQUAN to dominate this area with his pace he was able to get behind the back and score with a superb low strike. Ten minutes later JOHN CONWAY managed to take the score to five with another famous tap in. This game should have a cricket score as we continued to hit shot after shot both JOSHUA MAHONEY and MATTHEW LEE shot wide whilst BEN hit the post trying to get his second hat-trick in as many games on 60 mins JACK MCINISS scored with another curly free kick and BEN CLEMENTS eventually got his third after 66mins. Sealing a 7-0 victory.
In 4 weeks time Hanwell play Manor Youth at home which will be a different contest. Credit to them for not resorting to dirty tactics.
Hanwell Town Lions 4 Yeading/Hew 1
The Lions put last weeks dissapointing performance behind them and showed us what they can really do with a good win against Yeading. The Lions started strongly and went ahead early on when GEORGE BYRON slotted home after a goalmouth scramble, and continued to dominate play throughout the first half with out capitalizing on the numerous chances they created. They left the field at half time with a slender 1-0 lead. The second half started with Yeading equalizing from their first real shot of the match. This kick started the Lions and from kick off the ball was put out wide and a good cross was met by HAMZAH KHAN to restore the Lions lead. Again the Lions went on to dominate the half but the only goal added was from a corner, taken by RAHUL KALHAN and headed into his own net by a Yeading defender. This was a thoroughly deserved win that could quite easily been a lot more. Player of the match RAHUL KALHAN, was up against the biggest 9 year old ever and out battled him.
Hanwell Town Panthers 1 White Wings 1
The Panthers got a draw this week but should have taken all 3 points. Hanwell had to start well against a very large an physical White Wings team, they did having the best of the first half with some good passing, strong tackling but missing good chances in front of goal. Second half Hanwell made a few changes bringing on players adding more speed to their game, It worked when half way through the second half a slick move sent REECE FRANCIS through one on one with the keeper and he slotted it in to make it 1-0. Hanwell then went from strength to strength hitting the crossbar then the post and the white wings goal keeper made some great saves to keep the score at 0-1. Until the last few minutes when the referee pointed to award Hanwell a corner which they started positioning themselves for when the referee changed his decision and gave a goal kick, White Wings took this quickly and scored from it. The Panthers were down hearted about the result and maybe that decision by the referee but they must train hard to make sure that chancess are converted.
Hayes 0 Hanwell Town Tigers 0
A fantastic display from the Tigers who held their own against a very strong Hayes team. This match was largely dominated by the defences with neither side being able to create many good chances. Special thanks to TOM BAIGENT who played in goal and did a fine job. SAMIR BOUANANE and OMAR RILEY were masterful in defence for the Tigers and it was SAMIR that almost put the Tigers ahead when he crashed a freekick against the post but the ball unfortunately went to the keeper. The second half was just the same and the Tigers refused to buckle under increasing Hayes pressure. MIRAN BESARANI who gave a captains performance in the centre of the field sent VIRAJ JUNEJA through on goal with a delightful pass, but the shot went just wide of the post. In the end the Tigers held on to a thorouhly deserved point. Well done to all the boys for a fine performance. Player of the match OMAR RILEY, a rock in defence.
Hanwell Town 3 Brook House 5
Bedfont Eagles 3 Hanwell Town 1
Hanwell started this game with a new 3-2-1 formation and as a result looked comfortable in defence. LIAM ATTIRDIDGE, ROBBIE CONNOLLY and TIA PRIOR linked up very well in attack and caused Bedfonts defence problems with some excellent passing and movement. ROBBIE opened the scoring after 5 minutes with a well stuck shot. ROBBIE nearly doubled lead moments later when a delightfully hit half volley forced a fantastic save from the Bedfont keeper. Bedfont created a number of chances to level the scores but were denied by resolute defending.
Bedfont looked a constant threat from corners and equalised five minutes into the second half with a superb headed goal from a corner kick. Bedfont took the lead minutes later with a well struck effort from outside the box. Bedfont scored another well worked goal with 10 minutes remaining. Hanwell to their credit kept looking to create chances, LIAM always looked dangerous in possession, however it was his range of passing and link play which really impressed today. ANTHONY LOWNDES, JACOB CROSBIE and MANINDER BAINS all worked very hard in defence. ETHAN MOORE could do nothing about the three goals he conceded today, he put in another excellent performance in goal.
Man of the Match LIAM ATTRIDGE.
West Drayton United 2 Hanwell Town 3
The never-say-die approach that characterised this team last season was in evidence again. From being 1-0 down, the Under 8s came back to win this hard-fought match 3-2 thanks to CHRIS CORRIGAN'S late winner. This was an open, free-flowing game of football, with some great passing and end-to-end action. The score was 0 - 0 at half time thanks to a man of the match goalkeeping performance from Town's JACK COOKE. United scored early in the second half, but Town hit back with two quick strikes from WILLIAM JOHNSTON, one after latching on to a fantastic through ball from STAN PERRIN. But the game was not won. United equalised with only six minutes remaining, only for that winning goal with the final whistle approaching. NICK PHILLIPS, GEORGE HEARNE and LOUIS GRANTHAM ran tirelessly to ensure the victory, with valuable contributions also from ROBBIE ROUND and HARRY CHILDS. A fantastic team performance to get the league campaign off to a winning start.
Hanwell Town 3 Parkfield 2
Two goals from PETER DAVIS and one from ANTHONY WALSH keep the U17s unbeaten start to the season going
Hanwell Town 5 Wembley 1
Alpha & Omega 1 Hanwell Town 4
Charville Athletic 2 Hanwell Town 4
Hanwell started in the worst possible fashion giving a goal away in the first 5 minutes due to a defensive mix-up with the goal keeper and their forward took a chance and it paid off. It seemed to settle Hanwell and after that they started to play and scored through MATTHEW GROUNDWATER a great goal that started from the back out wide to SANCHEZ BANGER who ran and crossed into the area for hit a volley into the
goal giving the keeper no chance.
Hanwell went to sleep again and Charville got another goal from their next attackmaking it 2-1 at half time.
After a couple changes Hanwell looked more resolute defensively and passed the ball a lot better, putting Charville under a lot of pressure but with ni end product. Then CONNOR PATTERSON one of are new signing scored from a corner and Hanwell were swept with belief if they could only put the chances away.
CONOR then got another with some good passing movement from the front men and SHAUN LUCIE another new signing got the last goal with a great pass for MATT to CONNER who drew the defender and goalkeeper to him, then touch it to SHAUN who just tapped it in to an empty goal. Fantastic stuff.
Hanwell Town 2 Aldershot Boys 4
Manor Youth 8 Hanwell Town 1
Hanwell endured a torrid second half at Manor Youth, eventually losing 8-1. The opening 45 minutes had seen Hanwell have the better of the chances before falling behind to a breakaway goal. A second, with the last kick of the first half, seemed to knock the stuffing out of them. They were comprehensively outplayed in the second period and their only consolation was a superb direct free-kick from RYAN THORNHILL
Bedfont Eagles 4 Hanwell Town 5
Although Hanwell started the game briskly, dominating the first 10 minutes with JACK KILLIP (M.O.M.) going close to scoring on two occasions, it was Bedfont who took a lucky lead through a break away goal. In spite of this set back, Hanwell maintained control in the first half and their pressure was rewarded by four fine goals. Firstly ZAK JOSEPH beat a player to coolly place the ball past the Bedfont keeper: 1-1. Next an excellent goal from JACK KILLIP lobbed over the keeper: 2-1. The third goal was a well placed header by SAM BEALES, supplied from a pinpoint cross by LLOYD MORGAN and the fourth, a drilled shot from FREDDIE MEREDITH after a series of fine passes.
Truly a game of two halves, as Hanwell bravely hung on in the second half. The game looked as if it was over by half time and it should have been. However a combination of a strong gusting wind blowing Bedfont's way and too many high clearances opened the game up again. It went to 4-2 before a superb free kick from SAM BEALES beat the keeper. Bedfont Eagles were not finished though, scoring two goals and missing a penalty to make a tense last 15 minutes to the game.
West Drayton Boys Club 2 Hanwell Town 3
Hanwell went 1-0 down due to a miskick by the goalkeeper. Making no headway a few changes were alled for and it wasn't long before DAVE SOBERS equalised. WDBC got through again to go 2-1 up until Hanwell were awarded a penalty for hand ball in the area. DAVE SOBERS again took the responsiblity to slot home his 5th goal of the season. Then CARRON MOSES-HOLMES pushed forward to grab his first goal for Hanwell Town and the winner. Great spirit from the players to come back twice. Well Done!
Hanwell Town 6 Brook House 1
Again a slow start for for Hanwell highlighting something that needs to be worked on.It was tough with a heavy wind against them in the first half. One goal a piece after ten minutes and one sensed the game could go either way.Slowly, despite the heavy wind, Hanwell started to dominate ending at half time 3-1 in front.
The second half saw Hanwell dominate, scoring a further three goals. All in all a great performance where work done in training field saw results on the pitch.Hanwell showed signs of progress today,as individual players and as a team.
Goal scorers LUKE JONES-3 JOE MALONEY-2 JORDAN HANNINGTON-1 Mom-NIALL KIRKLAND for a disciplined and inspirational performance in midfield.
Hanwell Town 8 Park Place 0
This was a wet windy afternoon and the kick off time had been and gone and considering the result thatPark Place had against New Hope Warriors the previous week a fe were already to go home. How wrong was that would have been. From start to finish Hanwell Town dominated this match with little to defend. PP only had three shots on target both LUKE HUTCHINGS and MATTHEW WRAY gathering with no problems.
By the end of the match HWT had had twenty shots on goal with 16 on target and eight scored. The first being scored as early as 8 mins with and easy tap in by ANTHONY HAYNES after a rebounded shot from JOSH MAHONEY. ROHAN DODD was again in great form, controlling the heart of the defence and finds it quite easy to take the ball away from the opposition's feet no matter how big. JOHN CONWAY converted the next goal taken from a Corner by JACK MCINNIS. ANTHONY HAYNES only had to place it for JOHN CONWAY to score from close range. Our third Goal was another tap in from BEN (Nedved) CLEMENTS after some good work from MATTHEW LEE on the right 3-0, LUKE HUTCHINGS made a great save and another
attack saw MATTHEW LEE attempt a scissor Kick. Back to the training ground with that one. Our fourth came just before the break with MOM MATTHEW WRAY scoring from rebound 4-0.
With the wind behind us in the second half Hanwell were looking good to extend our lead but after four shots save in 13mins and a great save from MATTHEW WRAY who now was in goal the 4-0 was looking secure. Then on 14 minutes we had a corner that MATTHEW LEE wiped in and with the wind behind us it was carrier into the net. 5-0. the result was a formality now and with further goals from JOHN CONWAY , DQUAN BABBand a trademark bending goal from JACK MCINNIS the score finished 8-0. Two wins two
clean sheets thanks to the defence that also included SAM GNASH and DEVANTE WRIGHT.
Hanwell Town 3 Cowley Youth 0
A disciplined performance from Hanwell saw them settle early on in this game. Their patience was finally rewarded when after some good work by SOLOMON QUARSHIE he squared the ball for TAPIWA CHIWAKATA to nod home his first goal for Hanwell. The defence snuffed out most of what the opposition offered and probed until eventually a through ball to NATHAN VACHER-FONTAINE sprung the offisde trap to double the lead. The second half saw Hanwell in control and NATHAN managed to repeat the feat once more for a 3 - 0 win. Great team performance and man of the match to JOEL TEIGER for strong marshalling from the back.
Hanwell Town 2 Westway 10
The U11b's first competitive 11 a side game ended in disappoint as they came up short against a high flying "Westway Youth" side going down by a score line of 10 goals to 2.
The first half was dominated by Westway and Hanwell found themselves 7 nil down at the break. The second half was a more even affair, with goals from "STEADY" EDDIE OAKAIDJA and LUKE BRANDON giving some hope for the rest of the season.
Keeper MICHAEL CONNOLLY'S outstanding effort was rewarded with a deserved man of the match nomination.
Ballers 3 Hanwell Town Lions 0
This was a dissapointing result for the Lions albeit against a very good Ballers team. It was a fairly even match with both teams playing some nice football, the difference was that when Ballers had the chance to shoot they got their shots away. Despite having good possesion and creating good opportunities the Lions refused to shoot, trying instead to do it the Arsenal way and walk the ball into the net. They found themselves behind just before halftime when space was given to a Ballers player just outside the box and he scored via a deflection to take his team into the interval with a 1-0 lead. The lead was doubled not long into the second half with a carbon copy goal again deflected past CRAIG TILLYER in goal. As has happened before the Lions found themselves behind after playing the better football. Unfortunately the Lions still did not find the need to shoot and had it not been for CRAIG in goal could have found themselves conceding more goals than they actually did. Ballers did eventually get a third with another deflected goal. After this the Lions did get a shot on goal when BEN GOULD forced the Ballers keeper to tip the ball over the bar. The Lions have to realise that they must work hard as a team in closing players down and not allowing them to shoot from outside the box all the
time, or they will end up losing more games than they win this year. That would not be a fair reflection on the excellent football that they play. They must also start giving an end product to their football, and the only way to
do this is by shooting, which i know they can all do as i see it in training every week. Player of the match CRAIG TILLYER, kept the Lions in the match with a host of fine saves.
Hayes 1 Hanwell Town Panthers 2
There was another solid display this week by the Hanwell Panthers away to a good Hayes youth team. Two goals from REECE FRANCIS sealed all 3 points for Hanwell. The first came from a DAVID GORDON through ball which he chipped over the Hayes goalkeeper early in the first half. His second came early in the second half after JAMIE BARTLETT had made a great run down the right and crossed it into the path of his run to slot it in. Hanwell became complacent with the 2-0 score line until JAMIE BARTLETT Scored an own goal defending a corner and LOUIS NELSON the panthers keeper made a great save off the line, this shook the panthers up who finished the game strong creating many chances.
Hanwell Town 2 White Wings 2
Another superb battling display from the Tigers against a big strong WW side. The Tigerscame out of the blocks slowly in this one and found themselves behind inside the first couple of minutes. This woke the Tigers up and they stepped up a gear and took the game to WW. OMAR BARZEY RILEY and TOM BAIGENT
were excellent in defence, with MIRAN BESARANI giving another captains performance in midfield along side CHARLIE MURRAY and JOSH NORRIS. Up front JOHN CAHILL was a constant thorn in the side for the WW defenders. It was JOHN who finally equalized for the Tigers when he was put clear by a lovely pass from MIRAN. This sent the teams in level 1-1 at half time. WW had the first chance of the second half when JACK PICKERING in goal tipped the ball onto the crossbar, but it was the Tigers who took the lead midway trough the second half when JOHN got his second with a cheeky chip. Unfortunately they were unable to hold onto that lead and secure their first win of the season as WW scored again. Both teams had chances to score a winner but the game finished in a draw. If the Tigers keep playing like this then that win won't be long in coming. A special mention to JAMIE GOULD who spent the whole match on the bench. He understood that it was difficult to make a substitution during this match and did not moan about not playing, but he continued to support his team mates. well done JAMIE. Player of the match CHARLIE MURRAY, an excellent performace in midfield.
Sandgate 8 Hanwell Town 2
Hanwell Town 3 Glenister 1
Hanwell started this game with confidence and belief, LIAM ATTIRDIDGE, ROBBIE CONNOLLY and TIA PRIOR linked up very well in attack and caused Glenister defence problems with excellent passing and movement. Glenister opened the scoring with a well struck free kick from just outside the penalty area and then extended their lead to 2-0 from a corner kick. Hanwell seem to have problems defending set pieces, an area that we need to work on in training. Hanwell continued to press for a goal and played the better football for the final 10 minutes of the first half.
Hanwell proceeded to throw the game away from the second half restart, Hanwell conceded possession from our centre, that coupled with some comedy defending allowed Glenister to take a 3-0 lead. Hanwell to their credit continued to demonstrate the confidence and belief that they could find a way back into the game, ROBBIE was in top form running at and committing defenders, ROBBIE showed excellent control and skill turning a defending inside out before driving his shot into the bottom corner of the net to bring the score to 3-1. Hanwell had to commit players into attack and as such left caps in defence, only a fantastic performance from DANIEL OTCHERE in goal kept Hanwell in the game. ANTHONY LOWNDES, JACOB CROSBIE and MANINDER BAINS all worked very hard in defence.
Hanwell have shown huge improvement over the last 2 games, although they have both resulted in defeats the team are playing some excellent football. Man of the Match DANIEL OTCHERE
Hanwell Town 2 Ickenham Youth 1
Ickenham Youth B Two great strikes from RITCHIE MERRETT saw the Under 8s to their second league win of the campaign. The first came after 90 seconds and the floodgates looked as though they would open. Unfortunately, the team could not convert its almost total dominance into more goals. As ever the defensive partnership of GEORGE HEARNE and LOUIS GRANTHAM was solid, and William Johnston had very little to do in goal. The midfield controlled the game, with some excellent interchanges between NICK PHILLIPS, CHRIS CORRIGAN and ROBBIE ROUND. The second goal came soon after half time, whereupon some complacency crept into the display. On one of their rare forays forward, Ickenham gained a corner, with the resulting kick being bundled over the line. At 2 -1, the team sprang back to life, with DAN GOULD lashing a shot against the woodwork, and LOUIS GRANTHAM forcing a good save from Ickenham's keeper. A comfortable win in the end, despite the score line, and a well-deserved man of the match award for NICK PHILLIPS

A tempestuous affair which saw 4 players sent off fortunately only one MATt MORAN for Hanwell. Another two goals from PETER DAVIS, two from ANTHONY WALSH keep the U17s unbeaten start to the season going, a fine goal from CRAIG DONLEVY on his return from injury and NICO FRASER
Forest United 5 Hanwell Town 0
The U16 bubble was well and truly burst on Sunday with a 5-0 defeat to Forrest Utd. But it was Hanwell, not the opposition who were the architects of their demise. In fact, the extent of their self destruction was so profound that four of the Forest goals were down to Hanwell mistakes and the fifth was a breakaway as the U16s pressed for consolation.
Such mistakes are often attributed to individual and it is the lot of goalkeepers and defenders that their mistakes can sometimes see the ball in their own net as a result. But the real picture is that teams loose matches not individuals. Someone may make mistakes but any algorithm of error would show that somebody, somewhere lost the ball first, somewhere up the line. Chaos theory for callamities.Likewise, strikers missing chances is frustrating and they may pound the turf in rage but they are spared the burden of guilt dumped upon defenders whose errors see the opposition score soft goals. Hey ho..........
To try and put a positive spin on this result may seem fallacious and unrealistic but there were some positives to be eked out from this minor disaster. Firstly, the lads never gave up and battled all the way. Well done. Secondly, despite the score line, Hanwell were not outclassed at any time - a point made by the opposition manager who described the result as "embarrassing" as it falsely flattered his team. Thirdly, perhaps a little of the unwanted focus descending on the A team will dissipate and we can get round to the hard, long business of the league.
There is no man of the match this time. It is an unwelcome distraction from the need to take collective responsibility for the errors and performance. Some players did well out there, some had nightmares. But most importantly eighty minute does not make a team bad. We will be judged at the end of the season and not before. Onward and upward, comrades.
